Frequently Asked Questions

We are an independent library run by a small team of volunteer committee members and librarians. We are registered as an Incorporated Society (Island Bay Toy Library Incorporated). We're all parents, based locally, who want to keep this awesome resource available for our community.

We're a member of, and receive support from the Toy Library Federation of New Zealand.

If the missing pieces are essential to the functioning of the toy, we will ask that you re-issue the toy for a further two weeks to locate the missing pieces in that time.  This gives us the best chance of keeping the toy complete.

After that time, the charge for lost, damaged, broken or incomplete toys is usually $10.  However, losing pieces or damaging the toy to the extent the toy is unusable may mean you are asked to pay the replacement cost of the toy.
